CAS Christmas Challenge - April

I went to a local art show today and was surprised to see the number of artists who had used alcohol ink as their medium.  I don't pretend to be able to do with it what they did but it sure is fun to play around with.  Like for my card for CAS Christmas Challenge.
I cut the SSS mod ornament from gold and then inlaid the alcohol pieces.  The same gold makes a border and the die cut word from CPD.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you had a great weekend.

CAS Watecolor and CASology

Time is almost up and I'm just getting around to making a card for the CAS Watercolor challenge - birds.  I love birds and you'd think I'd have a bunch of bird stamps but such is not the case.  I did go with one of my favorites though.
These little birds from Technique Tuesday are so simple and cute colored with Distress Inks.  I'm also sending this to CASology where the cue word is "Parents", which also explains my color choices since blue and yellow make green. 😉

That's all from me today.  Thanks for dropping by and enjoy your weekend.

Just Us Girls #437 - Color Week

That's right, stampers, it's Color Week at Just Us Girls and the color of choice for our host Carol is . .  .

I've had an alcohol ink panel on my desk for a while deciding what to do with it and this challenge sparked my imagination.
EbyE's Mondo Magnolia to the rescue.  I stamped it on the panel with Archival Ink and die cut it, adding a little green ink to the stem.  The die cut panel adds interest to the background and the PTI sentiment was heat embossed on a strip of black.  I still have a large section of the purple left so I need to think of a way to use it.

I hope you'll check out the fabulous creations by our Design Team and guest designer Karren Johnson and then make a purple card of your own.  If you are chosen Chic of the Week you could be our guest in June.

I'm also linking this up to the Ellen Hutson PinSights Challenge where this mood board is our inspiration.

Merry Monday #286

For Merry Monday we are to use our favorite verse on our card.  I don't know if I have an actual verse that I use over and over but I do have one from CF that I haven't used before and it makes a statement on a card.
I heat embossed the holly panel in gold and watercolored with Distress Ink.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white and inked with Bundled Sage.  I wasn't happy with it until I also embossed the edges of the holly panel.

I spent yesterday helping my husband install a new washer and dryer.  My washer gave out last Friday and while I cleaned the small space where they go, Ken took it to the dump and the dryer to Office of Human Services who already had someone in need of it.  I tried a small load after they were in to make sure all the connections were good and now I have a big load in.  It makes entirely different sounds than the old one and it will take some getting used to.  It has a big capacity so no more going to the laundromat to wash my pillow and queen-size quilt.

Thanks for dropping by.  Enjoy your day.

Fusion - Baby's Room

It's been a while since I've entered a Fusion challenge but once I saw this darling baby's room I knew I had just the right stamp to make a card.
I had to have the cute little elephants from WPlus9 and it's been a while since I've used them too.
I first inked the Smoke cs with HA Unicorn white through a SSS stencil.  PTI's Polaroid die was used for the background, embossing the center square to look like crib slats.  The elephant and balloon are colored with Zigs and popped up.

After I finished this I ran across a piece of gray cardstock flock with little white polka dots but I decided to keep with what I had.  I just need to remember that paper for a future project.

Thanks for dropping by.  Enjoy your day.
